REGEMAT 3D is a biotech company focused on regenerative medicine and pioneer in the promising area of bioprinting, that uses 3D printing technologies for regenerative therapies. Our mission is to develop innovative solutions in the area of bioprinting and regenerative medicine towards the clinical application of this amazing technology; we aim to improve people´s quality of life.  We have a deep knowledge in the clinical application of medical devices.

We are a multidisciplinary company highly motivated to implement this technology to all fields in biomedical science always looking towards the clinical application and patients. For this, we not only give our entire assistance to researchers but also act as a bridge between the scientific communities to create synergies between them. We worked on the development of the software, hardware and electronics so that we can customize the system to the needs of the research, as well as include the complements required, for example, light-UV photocurators, heal and cold jeringes, healing bed, etc. We also give complete technical assistance and co-development of the systems.

The current version has been developed for bioprinting thermoplastics using FDM and hydrogels with different viscosities using high accuracy stepper motors. We have implemented in the software different processes that allow to print droplets on demand and continuous ejection. These procedures are interesting for printing chondrocytes for cartilage regeneration but we can tune the bioprinter and the software to print the developed biomaterials according to the intended application.  We keep working on the bioprinting of chondrocytes with our reference research group, Advanced therapies, leaded by Professor JA Marchal at the Regenerative Medicine Institute (IBIMER), Centre for Biomedical Research (CIBM), University of Granada.  We have recently been testing different scaffolds geometries and bioinks using HA and alginate.

After several proves within the cellular level and viability of the scaffolds for cartilage regeneration we are preparing our first clinical trial with the Centre of Regenerative Medicine in Querétaro (México) with Dr. Joe Luis Carrillo. Besides the treatment with mesenchymal stem cells, the bioprinted bio reabsorbable scaffold made from PCL seems to be required to regenerate the cartilage. Besides we have opened tens of bioprinting labs around the world, that are already working in different applications of tissue regeneration and drug development. Few of them in reference Hospitals in Spain and México, as La Paz, Virgen del Rocío and INR but also, we are present in more than thirty countries all over the world as University of Edinburg, University of Nottingham, University of Iowa, I3S Group in University of Porto, Queensland University of Technology (Australia), Paper and Fibre Research Institute (PFI, Norway), Universidad Javeriana (Colombia), etc.
